Sura Siu is a full-time, Asian American, bilingual, female voiceover talent from The Bronx, New York. While her parents are from Thailand, she is of blended Asian heritage (Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese). Sura studied Thai classical drama and dance for over 15 years, spending her summers training at Silprakorn University in Bangkok Thailand. In college she studied electronic and technical design which led her to finding success as a consultant in the corporate tech environment.
As her career and family grew, Sura moved to New Jersey to accommodate her growing family’s needs. Despite a flourishing career in the corporate space, Sura’s love for performance led her back to training in acting once more and she enrolled for classes at HB Studio, in New York city. Fueled with purpose and determination, Sura set out to train with voiceover coaches in diverse genres – from audiobooks, commercial, corporate narration, medical narration to animation and video games.
At home, she transformed her home office into a professional voice studio, which houses a double walled WhisperRoom sound isolation booth. Sura also worked with several highly regarded sound engineers in the voiceover industry to ensure she not only had the best microphones and audio interfaces, but also the sound absorption and dampening to produce professional broadcast quality audio.
Sura always brings a compassionate empathy to her reads that perfectly balances with a blend of youthful trust, for a believable, authentic, conversational feel that clients and consumers are looking for. She has voiced for brands such as Spotify, Benevity, Accenture, Starbucks, Pfizer, Takeda, Dawn, Capital One, Volvo and HP.
Besides commercial work, Sura is also a multi nominated, multi award-winning audiobook narrator. She loves to breathes life into diverse characters from several genres, be it fantasy or contemporary coming-of-age stories. She has worked with publishers such as Simon and Schuster, Harper Collins, Macmillan, Penguin Random House, Hachette, and Blackstone.
When not in the studio recording, Sura enjoys yoga, Pilates, biking, reading, playing video games, watching animation and spending time with her family. (Especially, around a delicious meal!)
